1. Organizer
The International Student Artist Awards hereinafter referred to as the “Contest” Each student who submits an entry is referred to in these Terms as a “Participant.”
2. Eligibility
The Contest is open to students worldwide who are enrolled in grades 6 through 12 as of September 1 of the submission year. Participants under the age of 18 must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian. Participants under the age of 13 are subject to additional parental consent requirements under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The Contest reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.
3. Artwork Requirements
All submitted artwork must be original work created solely by the student.
Accepted mediums include: acrylic painting, oil painting, pencil drawings, colored pencil drawings, watercolor, poster color, gouache, ink, screen print, woodcut, linocut, collagraph, engraving, etching, lithography, collage, relief art, and mixed media (two or more listed mediums combined).
AI-generated, Digital art and photography are not permitted.
Artwork must not:
Infringe upon any copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights
Contain offensive, inappropriate, or unlawful content
Any use of plagiarism or AI-generated content may result in disqualification.
4. Submission Guidelines
Entries must be submitted through the official online submission form.
The file name must include the participant’s first name, last name, and artwork title.
Ex) Firstname_Lastname_Title.jpg, John_Smith_image.jpg
Only Jpg, PNG files are accepted. Files size must be under 1MB.
Each participant may submit one (1) entry.
Required submission materials may include:
Student name
School and grade
Art Teacher Email address
Country
Artwork title, size, medium, year, and description
Parent/guardian name
Email address
Parent/guardian consent and agreement
Incomplete or non-compliant submissions may not be considered.
5. Judging and Awards
Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on artistic skill, creativity, and originality. Judging may be conducted anonymously. All decisions of the contest are final and binding. Winners may receive digital certificates and recognition as determined by the contest. Winning artworks may be displayed on the contest website and related platforms.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
Participants retain full ownership of their artwork.
By submitting an entry, participants (and parents/guardians, where applicable) grant the Contest a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
Display artwork on websites, exhibitions, and promotional materials
Use artwork for contest-related publicity
Artwork will not be sold or commercially exploited without additional explicit permission.
7. Publicity
By entering the Contest, participants agree that:
Their artwork may be displayed publicly
Limited personal information (such as name, grade, and country) may be used for identification
Additional identifying information will not be used without explicit consent.
8. Media Release
By entering the Contest, participants (and parents/guardians, where applicable) grant the Contest organizers a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, publish, and distribute submitted artwork, as well as the participant’s name, grade level, country, and likeness (if provided or captured in Contest-related contexts), for purposes including but not limited to:
Marketing and promotional materials
Social media content
Website galleries and digital archives
Press releases and educational materials
Exhibition and event promotion
No additional compensation will be provided for such use, and no further approval shall be required for uses permitted under this section.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Contest organizers, affiliates, and partners are not responsible for:
Lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected submissions
Technical errors, system failures, or data loss
Unauthorized access to submissions
Participation is at the participant’s own risk.
The Contest shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or injuries arising from participation.
10. Indemnification
Participants (and their parents/guardians, if applicable) agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Contest organizers, affiliates, and partners from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:
Violation of these Terms & Conditions
Infringement of intellectual property rights
Submission of unlawful or inappropriate content
11. Disqualification
The Contest reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
Violates these Terms & Conditions
Submits false or misleading information
Engages in fraudulent, abusive, or unethical behavior
12. Judging Disputes
All judging decisions are made at the sole discretion of the Contest organizers and appointed judges.
Participants acknowledge that:
Judging decisions are final and not subject to appeal
The Contest is not required to provide scoring details or explanations
No disputes regarding results will be entertained
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the state in which the Organizer’s principal place of residence or business is located, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
14. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Notice)
We are committed to protecting children’s privacy and complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
a. Information We Collect
For participants under 13, we may collect:
Child’s name and grade
Child’s country of residence
Parent/guardian name and email
Artwork submissions
b. How We Use Information
Information is used only to:
Administer the Contest
Communicate with parents/guardians
Notify winners and distribute awards
Display artwork, name, grade, and country with parental consent
c. Parental Consent
Verifiable parental consent is required before collecting personal information from children under 13. Without consent, participation is not permitted.
d. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell or share children’s personal information except:
With judges (anonymized when possible)
With service providers assisting Contest operations
When required by law
e. Parental Rights
Parents/guardians may:
Review their child’s information
Request deletion
Withdraw consent at any time
f. Data Security and Retention
We implement reasonable safeguards to protect personal information. Data is retained only as long as necessary for Contest purposes.
15. Data Privacy (General)
Personal information collected from all participants is used solely for Contest administration. We do not sell or distribute personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. By entering, participants (and parents/guardians, where applicable) consent to the collection and use of their data as described in these Terms.
16. Modifications and Cancellation
The Contest reserves the right to:
Modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest at any time
Update these Terms & Conditions without prior notice
17. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an entry, participants (and parents/guardians, where applicable) acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
